- Description
- App Developer
Simmtronic, a highly established industry leader in lighting control systems, is seeking an App Developer to join their team. You will play a pivotal role in creating cutting edge mobile applications for some of the UK’s smartest commercial buildings.
Based in their Leeds development lab, you’ll be developing sophisticated mobile apps utilising Bluetooth to control lighting systems in high profile office blocks. Functionality and reliability are key when integrating with these complex building systems.
They currently have two mobile apps in development. The first, a client facing app for iOS and Android (written in Swift and Java), which customers use to control and interact with the lighting systems. The other being an internal Android app used for setting up and commissioning those systems.
In the future, you will be key in orchestrating the move towards a cross platform approach, using the best technologies. You will be the go to expert in this area, with the exciting opportunity to drive these projects forward.
What’s expected of you?
- Take ownership of app development from concept through to deployment, delivering high quality, cross platform apps for Android and iOS.
- Work closely with Hardware Engineers to integrate apps with embedded systems, Bluetooth communications, and multiple connected devices.
- Ensure apps perform flawlessly in demanding, multi user environments while maintaining sleek, intuitive user interfaces.
What are we looking for?
- Circa 4+ years’ industry experience in mobile app development, ideally with Bluetooth or other embedded/hardware linked applications (or hobby projects/proven interest in this area).
- Experience releasing commercial apps for both Android and iOS.
- Strong skills in Java and Swift.
- Experience in cross platform app frameworks.
- Ability to work at both UI/UX and low-level comms/hardware interface layers.
- Self-motivated and confident working independently in a collaborative, lab based environment.
