- Description
- Flight Control Engineer
Location: Cambridge
Salary: £60,000 – £130,000 + Equity + Benefits
This is an opportunity to join a well-funded, fast-growing technology company developing advanced autonomous flight systems for high-performance platforms. You’ll work on real vehicles and real flight programmes, with direct responsibility for how systems behave in the air.
The role suits an engineer who enjoys owning complex systems end to end. You’ll be involved from early architectural decisions through to flight testing, helping translate control and navigation theory into reliable, flight-ready software.
Your work will centre on evolving autopilot architectures, shaping how guidance, navigation, and control come together in real-time environments. You’ll use simulation and flight data to tune performance, support flight campaigns, and feed learning straight back into the system. Collaboration is central, with close interaction across GNC, avionics, and software teams.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience developing autopilot or flight control systems
- End‑to‑end UAV autopilot development experience
- Strong understanding in control theory, navigation filters and embedded flight software
- PX4 experience - highly desirable
In return, the company offers a highly competitive salary with flexibility for exceptional candidates, meaningful equity, comprehensive private healthcare, and the chance to work on ambitious, technically demanding flight systems in a high-growth environment.
