We have a systems specialist vacancy with Simmtronic, an established UK industry leader who design and supply high performance lighting control systems. With a HQ in Hoddesdon and a client focused central London office, you’ll be joining a well-known UK brand, getting the opportunity to work with several teams across the business, including sales, commissioning and technical design.
Role overview
Reporting to a technical director, your role starts by obtaining and maintaining comprehensive understanding of our systems and related fields in the areas of lighting control and commercial building automation.
You will gain this knowledge by close interaction with our technical design team and interaction with other technical forums in our industry.
Based at our HQ in Hoddesdon you will provide expert level system support and guidance as required by our sales and application team.
You will support more complex project applications which may often involve visiting sites for hands-on and design-level meetings, this may involve a level of troubleshooting and working out how to support more complex client needs.
You will also engage and assist in new product deployment and in-house trial installations and testing, working with and feeding back to product design teams.
This role will support several departments; you will be expected to manage and record your activity.
What are we looking for?- Formally qualified engineer (electronics, software, IT, computer systems)
- Strong technical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Interest in digital systems and how systems communicate
- Existing knowledge of digital protocols for example IP, MQTT, BACnet, DALI is helpful but not essential.
- Comfortable speaking with clients and engaging with technical colleagues at a high level and with all levels of technical expertise
- Practical and solution focused, a team player.
