- Head of Production – Advanced Technology Manufacturing
This is a senior leadership opportunity sitting at the heart of a highly advanced manufacturing environment, leading the production of complex electro-mechanical and sensing systems used across defence, security and industrial markets.
You’ll be joining an established, globally recognised engineering business known for producing cutting-edge, niche technology, with full in-house design, development and manufacturing capability. With strong demand and continued growth, the business is investing in its production function, providing the opportunity to shape operations, systems and long-term manufacturing strategy.
Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll take ownership of the full production operation, from planning and manufacturing through to supply chain, quality and continuous improvement. You’ll be responsible for ensuring products are delivered efficiently, to a high standard, and in line with both customer and regulatory requirements.
Alongside day-to-day leadership of production, you’ll play a key role in scaling manufacturing capability, improving operational performance and supporting the introduction of new products into production.
What are we looking for?
Required:- Significant experience leading manufacturing or production operations within a high-technology environment
- Strong understanding of production planning, supply chain and operational performance management
- Experience driving continuous improvement and implementing manufacturing best practices
- Knowledge of quality systems and working within regulated / ISO environments
- Proven leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary production teams
- Engineering or technical degree (or equivalent experience)
- Experience within defence, aerospace, electronics or similar industries
- Background in low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
- Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI)
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems implementation or optimisation
