Description
Manufacturing Engineering Technician (Fixed-Term Contract)
Location: Southampton, UK

This role will give you the opportunity to develop your engineering, manufacturing and problem-solving skills within a highly advanced production environment. Based in a state-of-the-art facility in Southampton, the company designs, develops and manufactures its products under one roof, providing employees with a unique opportunity to gain exposure to the entire product lifecycle.

From research and development through to production and final testing, you will be able to see every stage of the manufacturing process while working within modern facilities and alongside highly skilled engineering teams. The business is committed to investing in its people and offers excellent opportunities for long-term career development and progression.

Working as part of the Operational Excellence team, you will play a key role in supporting production operations, ensuring products are built and tested to the highest quality standards. This is a hands-on position focused on troubleshooting manufacturing issues, improving processes, supporting equipment reliability, and helping to introduce new products into production.

You will work closely with Production, Engineering, and R&D teams to identify root causes of manufacturing challenges, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The role also involves supporting process validation activities and maintaining clear manufacturing documentation.

This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys problem-solving, working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality products.

Requirements
• Previous experience in a manufacturing, engineering, service, repair, or technical environment.
• Strong practical problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach and the ability to work effectively across multiple priorities.
• Good IT and communication skills; engineering qualifications, Lean Manufacturing experience, or equipment maintenance experience would be advantageous.
