Description
Programme Design Engineering Manager

This role has a unique mix of overseeing a range of customer projects whilst also managing and driving forward teams of internal design and service support engineers. You will need to have the ability to think like a customer and understand technical requirements and then work closely with internal teams to turn these ideas into reality.

The company design and manufacture a range of low volume complex machinery which is used by a multitude of customers across the world. This is not a hands on design role but you will have had experience at some point in your career of working as a design engineer who has then moved into managing projects and teams of engineers. You will then manage the design solutions to projects by overseeing a team of talented engineers to help create an innovative approach to all technical tasks by establishing DFMA standards and the adoption of robust design principles.

As well as the design side you will also take ownership of the service support team who provide installation, commissioning, training and assistance with all technical issues. The role would be a great fit for an all-rounder who enjoys working on technical projects and working with technical teams in a busy design and manufacturing environment.

For this role we are looking for…..

-         A degree in a relevant engineering field.- Mechanical, Electronics, Manufacturing, Aerospace etc…

-         A strong appreciation of the design of systems with elements of mechanical, electrical, electronics and software.

-         Some management experience of small to medium technical teams.
